About Reliquary Creative

I find the bones of a story, then I gild them until they shine. That's the whole job, whether I'm building a brand voice, running a trade show floor, directing a burlesque show, or teaching a Pilates class. Different rooms, different mediums, same instinct: find what's actually true underneath, then build something worthy of holding it.
I started as a writer before I started as anything else. My Rutgers thesis was a poetry collection about Playboy bunnies, heartbreak, spreadsheets, and the strange art of writing warning labels for nuclear waste sites meant to last ten thousand years. Looking back, that thesis was already the whole practice in miniature. How do you take something real and give it a form that survives? How do you make sure the right people can still read it later?
That question turned out to be useful everywhere.
At m|events, it means aligning a global brand voice across a merger so the story doesn't fracture across teams and continents. At F2B Services, it means finding the thread that makes technical trade show content actually worth reading. At the Delaware River Mill Society, it meant writing grant proposals that convinced people a historic building was worth saving. As co-creative director of Fiery Sweet and True, it means building a burlesque show from the ground up, with fair pay for every performer and a stage that treats the audience like they're worth showing up for.
None of that is a side project from the marketing work. It's the same practice, applied to a room instead of a page.
I don't start client work with a mood board or a Pinterest link. I start with a real questionnaire, the same process I used to build my own brand identity, because guessing at what someone means by "clean and modern" wastes everyone's time. Finding the bones takes real questions, asked in the right order. Everything after that, the color palette, the voice guide, the event run of show, is the gilding. It only works if the bones underneath it are true.
I care about the same things whether I'm drafting a brand voice guide or building a Pilates class plan: precision, community, and making sure the people in the room feel like they were actually seen. That's not a values statement I'm adding on top of the work. It's the reason I do the work this way in the first place.
